I have a son that has been on Adderall for the past three or four years. This medication has helped him tremendously; but, he still exhibits bad habits that I don't know how to help him overcome such as messiness, running with the wrong prople, completing a task, etc. He was in his mid twenties when he started taking medication. The medication only allows him to play on the same playing field as other people without ADHD. The medication does not cure him or his bad habits that he has formed throughout his life. I desperately need help finding someone that can council him. He is no longer on my insurance because of hiw age (25). I can barely pay my bills and now I am faced with paying for his medication & no insurance for him. He has gone to college - but not finished. He will work, if someone will find and give him a job but he's currently not working & jobs are scarce. Surely there are councelors out there that can help! Will he be another person that slips through the cracks & possibly winds up in prison because he suffers from ADHD...the jails are full of ADHD people! Medication is not the whole answer. If a person is not diagnosed early enough he/she will have low self esteem and many, many bad habits! The medication does not cure these problems. If anyone knows where I can go for help for him with little expense, let me know. I have several friends that have grown sons with ADHD and have similar problems. Has it become an epedimic?
