ADHD Remedies: ADHD Vitamins, Cures and Causes

Are there ADHD vitamins that can help reduce the symptoms of ADHD? Recent studies show that magnesium and vitamin B6 can help treat ADHD. Vitamin B6 has been known to increase the absorption of magnesium by the body and other minerals into cells. In this case, the highest levels of this mineral can be reached. Basically, the process is very efficient for ADHD because of the ability for magnesium to be taken in by the cells. Recent studies on vitamin deficiencies in ADHD shows that people with ADHD have lower than normal levels of magnesium in their blood than people without the disease. Since vitamin B6 helps to get magnesium into cells, it is an important ingredient in the treatment of ADHD with magnesium. In addition, the B vitamins are known to have their beneficial properties and many studies have linked the family of B vitamins to improve mental function and development.

Low magnesium levels in the blood can result to irritability, inattentiveness, hyperactivity, sleepiness and aggressiveness. It is also associated with poor blood circulation to the brain, which is a common phenomenon that is often observed in brain scans of patients with ADHD. Taking magnesium and vitamin B6 in combination may be useful for managing ADHD symptoms.

In ADHD vitamins supplementation with magnesium and vitamin B6, there is reduced symptoms of aggression, hyperactivity and inattention. The recommended dosage per day is 100- 200 mg for magnesium and 10-20 mg for Vitamin B6.

Although most of the ADHD symptoms improve with treatment of magnesium and vitamin B6, most noted is the improvement in symptoms of hyperactivity. There is also evidence supporting the idea that magnesium and vitamin B6 should be treated as a strategy that is long-term in the management for ADHD, in contrast to the thinking that it is an emergency treatment.

Furthermore, after cessation of treatment with magnesium and B6, ADHD symptoms returned after some weeks. But, good news is that even if a patient loses one day of consumption, he or she will not lead to immediate negative effects of the ADHD symptoms.
