Bee Pollen Hand Cream - A Homemade Hand Lotion.
Bee Pollen Hand Cream is a 100 percent
natural way to beautify your skin without harsh cleansers or
perfumes. This homemade hand lotion is completely natural with
no added toxins, additives, chemicals, or synthetic perfumes.
This bee pollen hand cream
leaves your skin gently scented and feeling like silk.
1/2 cup Petroleum Jelly
1/2 cup Glycerin
1/3 cup Beeswax
2 Tbsp. Bee pollen
To Make This Homemade Hand Lotion:
Melt the petroleum jelly and beeswax in a double boiler. Add the glycerin and
heat for several minutes until the mixture is smooth and well heated. Add the
bee pollen and pour into a container while still hot since the mixture does
harden as it cools.
Glycerin can be found at health food
stores, some drug stores, craft stores or major department stores. Glycerin
is a gentle skin moisturizer soap that is available in clear and opaque.
Glycerin makes soap making less intimidating because glycerin soap recipes
don't require lye and fats. The key to great glycerin homemade hand lotion is to keep the
heat as low as possible. High heating temperatures heat will produce a mushy
or beaded appearance. To keep the glycerin from attracting moisture from the
air, tightly wrap the glycerin soaps in plastic after making.
This
homemade hand lotion makes a perfect
gift. Your friends and family will appreciate the gift of a relaxing and unique
bath and body product. That this gift came from the heart and your hands
makes it even more special.
Packaging and presentation play a predominant role
in the gift-giving of your handmade soaps, salts and lotions. Below are several
packaging ideas, but don’t let this brief list limit your creativity!
Here's a
quick, inexpensive and easy packaging idea; Removing labels off empty glass
jars. Relish jars, olive jars and baby food jars all work well. Spray paint the
lids with a granite spray. Lotions package in a cobalt bottle or a brushed
aluminum bottle always present well. Or, place your homemade hand lotion in
decorative bottles. For an added touch, write the recipe on a little card and
tie the recipe onto the bottle with ribbon or raffia.
