Citronella Soap - A Pure and Natural Soap.
This
Citronella soap recipe is an easy to make, affordable,
skin nourishing, invigorating, restoring, and refreshing
bath and body product. The bonus to this pure and natural soap
recipe is that it has the ability to ward off mosquitoes and
other pesky bugs.
1 cup grated castile soap
1/2 cup boiling water
10 drops Citronella Essential Oil
5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
1 Tbsp dried, crushed Pennyroyal leaves
To Make This Pure And Natural Soap:
Add grated castile soap to boiling water and stir until melted. Mix the remaining
ingredients into the melted soap and water mixture. With an electric mixer, mix
this pure and natural soap until it has doubled in volume. Spoon the pure and
natural soap into the prepared molds, pushing it into the molds
as best you can. The beating action cools the mix, so you must
work quickly. If the mixture has cooled off and thickened so
much you can't pour
it into the molds, hand mold the pure and natural soap into large balls.
Castile soap is made from 100 percent olive oil and is used to
soften and moisturize the skin. Castile can be found at health
food stores, some drug stores, craft stores or major department
stores. Feel free to substitute or add other essential oils, herbs or
salts to personalize your recipes. The pure and natural soap recipe can be left without fragrance
or other essential oils can be added for therapeutic benefit. This pure and
natural soap is completely natural with no added toxins,
additives, chemicals, or synthetic perfumes.
This recipe also makes a perfect gift. Your friends and family will
appreciate the gift of a pure and natural soap that is a unique bath and body product. That
these gifts came from the heart and your hands makes them even more special.
Packaging and presentation play a predominant role in the gift-giving of
your handmade soaps, salts and lotions. Below are several packaging ideas,
but don’t let this brief list limit your creativity!
Sticky labels, round labels and heavyweight card stock can be used for labeling.
Boxes and baskets are nice containers for soap, especially when you fill the
boxes with other materials. You can fill the box or basket halfway with herbs,
dried flowers or potpourri that matches the scent of your soap. Gift basket
fillings, other toiletries, washcloths or sponges also make great fillers in the
basket with your soap. Once you have added the filler and soap, wrap the box or
basket in cellophane.
