This is a great smelling natural hair shampoo that can make a
wonderful gift as well.
3/4 cup Distilled water
1/4 cup Shampoo concentrate (or use 1/2 cup unscented shampoo and increase salt
to 1 tsp.)
1/2 tsp. Table salt
2 Tbsp. Dried chamomile
1 Tbsp. Dried rosemary
2 tsp. Sweet almond oil
1/4 tsp. Lemon oil
1 drop Yellow food coloring (optional)
To Make This Natural Hair Shampoo:
Heat the water in a saucepan, bringing to a boil. Add dried chamomile and
rosemary to the water and remove from the heat. Let the herbs set in the water
for 20 min. Pour the water through a strainer and into a collecting bowl.
Discard herbs. Add the shampoo concentrate to the water and stir until it has
dissolved. Add almond oil, lemon oil and food coloring. Stir until blended. Add
salt and stir until the mixture thickens. Let the mixture cool to room
temperature and bottle.
Inexpensive and easy
packaging ideas for your natural hair shampoo include; Removing labels off empty glass jars. Relish jars, olive jars
and baby food jars all work well. Spray paint the lids with a granite spray.
Natural hair shampoo packaged in a cobalt bottle or a brushed aluminum bottle always present
well. Or, place your natural hair shampoo recipe in decorative bottles and give
as a gift. For an
added touch, write the recipe on a little card and tie the recipe onto the
bottle with ribbon or raffia.
