Orange Castile Shampoo - A Shampoo For Oily Hair.
The acid content in the sweet orange essential oil gently dissolves grease
and dirt buildup and restores shine. The white chamomile and rosemary conditions
hair follicles to improve balance and strengthen hair.
1/3 cup distilled water
2 Tbsp. chamomile flowers
1 Tbsp. rosemary leaves
2/3 cup liquid castile soap
2 tsp. sweet almond oil
1/4 tsp. sweet orange essential oil
1 tsp. fine sea salt
To Make This Shampoo for Oily Hair:
In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil, then remove from the heat. Add the
chamomile and rosemary. Cover and let steep for 25 minutes. Strain off and
discard the solids. Add the castile soap, sweet almond oil, lemon and sweet
orange essential oil and salt, and blend well. Cover and allow to cool to room
temperature. Place shampoo into a container and seal tightly. Stored in a
refrigerator, it should keep for 2 weeks. Shake well before using. This recipe
for oily hair makes approximately 1 cup, which should be enough for 4-5 shampoos. Massage
about 1/4 cup of orange castile shampoo into wet hair and work into a lather. Rinse with warm
water.
Castile soap is made from 100 percent olive oil and is used to soften and
moisturize the hair. Castile can be found at health food stores, some drug
stores, craft stores or major department stores. This shampoo for oily
hair is completely natural with no added toxins, additives, chemicals, or
