Healthy French Onion Soup
Recipe.
Onions are chock full of anti-cancer chemicals and are highly
recommended for people trying to prevent cardiovascular disease,
cancer and infections. Hippocrates prescribed onions as a

Five-Star French Onion Soup.
3 lbs. onions, peeled and sliced to 1/8" thick
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
3/4 cup flour
3 quart beef bouillon
1 cup white wine
8 oz. Swiss cheese, sliced
French bread
Sautee onions in butter for until translucent in a large soup
pot. Add remaining ingredients except bouillon, wine and salt.
Sautee over low heat for 10 minutes. Add bouillon, salt and wine
and simmer for two hours.
To serve: Fill a casserole dish or individual oven-proof bowls
with soup, top with 1/2-inch slices of French Bread and sliced
Swiss cheese. Place under broiler, approximately 5 minutes at
550 degrees, until cheese is browned.
