Extress,
a natural homeopathic and nutrition supplement, is an
exceptionally effective stress reliever. Extress physically
supports the body during periods of stress,
tension and anxiety.
Stress
and Depression and their link to Viruses
Scientists
and medical professionals are slowly beginning to believe that
stress and depression reduces immunity and enables virus
attacks. But this is not the only relationship. It can be the
other way round as well. Viruses can also cause a great deal of
stress to the body. So stress, depression and viruses are deeply
linked.
Kinds of Stress and how they lead to Virus
Attacks
There are
primarily two kinds of stress – physical and mental or
emotional. When there is physical stress like an injury, illness
or even sleeplessness, the natural immunity of the body gets
disturbed. And this is the exact opening that viruses seek to
gain entry. Actually the atmosphere is full of viruses and they
are constantly attacking us. But only a few can get in and those
that do are fought gallantly by the immune system. But when the
defense mechanism is down, the opposition naturally gains
power.
But it is
probably mental stress that causes more damage as this is more
rampant than physical stress these days with the pressures of
modern living.
Stress, Depression, Viruses and Herpes Outbreak
How do you
control a Herpes Outbreak?
Here is a
way…Herpes
Virus treatment.
A recently held interesting study is of the opinion that social
stress reactivates the Herpes virus in the body that has been
lying dormant for years. It has been a long held view that
stress indeed has many impacts, but the fact that it also brings
back the Herpes virus was not known before. In several
experiments it was noted that the virus made a comeback in as
many as 40% of the mice population whose social structure was
reorganized that led to conflicts. And interestingly, this
happened the most in those mice that were most aggressive in
their interactions. This research supports the idea that
stressful living significantly suppresses the immune system and
increases the incidence of infectious diseases including Herpes.
Since we lead a stressful life as a society – nearly everyone is
stressed, the chances of
herpes
outbreaks are more than good. A new boss in office, project
deadlines, pressures to meet the expectations of a partner, exam
stress at school, pressure to perform for a politician or a
sportsperson… everyone has a good enough reason. And since we
all live so closely, it becomes easier for the virus to spread,
thus causing a herpes outbreak quite easily.
The role of Depression and Virus Attacks
As stress
increases in a society, one thing is bound to happen. More and
more people are sure to fall depressed. So should we expect an
increase in the number of virus attacks in the future? Well
quite frankly, that sure seems to be the case as modern
medications have failed to completely eradicate many viruses
including the Herpes virus.
Stress and Immunity
The study of
Rabies involves injecting the virus in rats – while most get
infected some manage to escape. A study was held where all such
rats that managed to escape the infection were collected. These
rats that had somehow escaped the rabies virus, in spite of
being injected were then subjected to stresses in the form of
flashing lights, irregular feeding schedules, excessive heat and
cold, water deprivation and loud noises. In a few days all the
rats contracted rabies and died. The study concluded excessive
stress reduced immunity.
But here’s Something Different
And it is
quite surprising. According to another study, social stress
actually boosts the immune system’s ability to fight Flu. In
that study, short bouts of intense social stress improved
ability in mice to recover from Flu. This happened by
substantially boosting the production of specialized immune
cells that fought the virus.
Conclusion
Though there
are those who believe in the contrary, but most are of the
opinion that stress and depression never have a positive impact
and actually end up harming the immune system by opening up the
entry points to the viruses.
